Unfortunately this year’s Manor Brook event was a little hard for all who attended, with water temperatures creeping up to 18 degrees the Tench weren’t playing ball! However there were a few caught, with Frank managing to tease four fish to the bank which included three 6lbers along with a cracking 7lb specimen. All of the Tench were safely relocated to Thamesmead A, with the aim to provide a more diversified fishery for our members to target.
There was one lucky angler among us though, who managed to land a cracking carp in the shape of a 22lb+ common. Although a hard weekends fishing, a great time had by all and gave everyone chance to catch up over a smashing BBQ on the Saturday night.
We will be holding further events on Manor Brook later in the year, where we hope to have more favourable conditions with the aim to continue the transformation of Thamesmead A. If you are interested in further events to be held, please keep your eye open on the Facebook page, along with the website where we will announce further details.
